Mediation
as a tool for peacebuilding
The “Mediation as a Tool for Peacebuilding” project is a pathway aimed at strengthening the role of mediation in peacebuilding, and at widening the participation of youth, women and community leaders in addressing conflict and strengthening dialogue.
The project starts from a core idea: mediation is not only a tool for settling disputes between individuals, but can be a way into building trust, strengthening the social fabric, easing tensions, and improving communities’ ability to deal with conflict by peaceful means.

Strengthening inclusive, community-led mediation efforts, in ways that build communities’ resilience in the face of conflict and consolidate a culture of dialogue and peace.
Capacity building
The project includes trainings and workshops to strengthen participants’ skills in mediation, dialogue, conflict analysis, youth participation and advocacy.
The Youth, Peace and Security Network
The project supports the launch of the Youth, Peace and Security Network in Palestine as a youth and community platform for strengthening the role of young people in matters of peace and security.
Dialogue meetings
The project organises meetings and facilitated sessions that bring together participants from different backgrounds, to exchange experiences, discuss challenges and develop ideas for initiatives.
Roundtables
The project includes roundtable discussions with Palestinian policymakers and civil society organisations on mediation, youth, peace and security.
Media and knowledge campaigns
The project works to produce media materials such as videos, podcasts, reels, articles and policy papers, in order to spread a culture of mediation and dialogue.
The national conference
The project concludes with a national conference to launch the Youth, Peace and Security Network and to present the outputs, the success stories and the recommendations.

A participatory approach, each principle building on the one before it.
