Youth leading dialogue, and mediation that builds peace.
The Youth, Peace and Security Network in Palestine is a youth and community space that aims to strengthen young women and men’s participation in peace, security, mediation, dialogue, and community advocacy. The network seeks to highlight the role of youth as actors, partners, and leaders in building peace — not only as program beneficiaries or people affected by conflict.

We believe that youth are not only affected by conflict, but are partners and leaders in building peace and creating change.
The network falls under the “Mediation as a Tool for Peacebuilding” project implemented by ACT for Conflict Resolution, with the aim of empowering youth, women, and community leaders with tools for mediation, dialogue, conflict analysis, and advocacy, and strengthening their ability to contribute to building more cohesive, just, and peaceful communities.

Enable young women and men in Palestine to access the tools and spaces needed for meaningful participation in building peace, strengthen a culture of dialogue, and develop community initiatives rooted in mediation, advocacy, and collective action.

A more cohesive, just, and peaceful Palestinian society where young women and men take part as genuine partners in decision-making, building peace, resolving conflict, and strengthening community security.
Values that guide our daily work with youth, communities, and partners:
We believe dialogue is the essential starting point for understanding others and building trust.
We work to engage youth, women, and marginalized groups in peace and security spaces.
We believe real participation means influence — not mere presence.
We see mediation as a practical tool for addressing conflict and building bridges of communication.
We connect peacebuilding with respect for dignity, rights, and equality.
We encourage youth to engage in advocacy and public policy in an organized, responsible way.
We respect context sensitivity and the experiences of participants and local communities.

Why a Youth, Peace and Security Network?
Palestinian youth live a complex reality shaped by political, social, economic, and security challenges. In these conditions, the role of young people in building peace and strengthening dialogue matters more than ever.
The network believes that youth hold knowledge, experience, energy, and the ability to propose innovative community solutions, contribute to addressing conflict, strengthen social cohesion, and defend their issues through peaceful and organized means.
Through training, dialogue, mediation, advocacy, and documenting success stories, the network works to transform youth participation from symbolic presence into purposeful, effective engagement in peace and security.

Meaningful participation, not symbolic presence.

Success stories are not always major events — they may begin with a small initiative, a dialogue session, a mediation intervention, or a youth idea that opened a door to change.
In this section we share stories and initiatives from youth, women and mediators who contributed to building peace, resolving conflicts, strengthening dialogue, or supporting their communities in difficult times.

From participation to initiative
Youth moved from YPS trainings into practical initiatives after realizing they can be partners in choosing issues, building coalitions, and engaging decision-makers.
