ACT delivers advanced mediation training with the support of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs

ACT for Conflict Resolution delivered specialised training in the field of advanced mediation, as part of the “Mediation as a Tool for Peacebuilding” project and with the support of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The training continues a track of work aimed at strengthening and building the capacities of socially active young people to settle conflicts by peaceful means, and at establishing mediation as a civilised option for resolving disputes.
The training was held in November in the city of Ramallah and was aimed at a diverse group of young people, experts and people interested in the fields of mediation and peacebuilding. The programme focused on practical applications reflecting real examples of community conflicts, and formed an extension of the basic training delivered in September, which addressed the theoretical aspects of the concept of mediation, its principles and its different stages.
During the interactive sessions, participants turned theoretical knowledge into practice through simulations of realistic mediation sessions, which helped strengthen their skills in negotiation, active listening and managing dialogue between conflicting parties, thereby supporting the reduction of conflicts and the strengthening of a culture of dialogue within the community.
